5th Bugaboos Bluesfestival Mol (Belgium)

The fifth Bugaboos Bluesfestival in Mol, Belgium will take place on Saturday June 9th 2007. The last 2 years this festival has become very popular and again it looks like they can present a great line-up. Opening act will be the Belgian band Tim's Blues Combo.

Within a few years, they have become one of the most wanted bands in the country. Fronted by Tim Verbist, they have built up a real live reputation with their raw and energetic jumpin' delta blues and boogie woogie. The second band is one of last year's biggest surprises on the Dutch bluesscene : The Twelve Bar Blues Band. It looks like bluesveterans Jan J. Scherpenzeel and Kees Dusink have found the key to success. Inspired by the Chicago bluessound, they delivered a top class CD which sold out in 6 months. The Reba Russell Band from Memphis, Tennessee will be the first blues/soul act since the start of the festival. With her great voice, she made her name as backup singer for acts like U2, Tracy Nelson, Johnny Cash en Jimmy Thackery. Although she isn't that famous in Europe, she might become the big surprise of the festival. By special request, the extremely talented guitarplayer from Florida, Eric Steckel, will return to the festival. In 2005, when he was only 15, he already thrilled and amazed the crowd and this year it will be even better because this young artist has made a lot of progression over the last two years. Headliner of the festival will be Tommy Castro. Not many people know this, but one of the main reasons why this festival was started 5 years ago was to get The Tommy Castro Band to Mol. Formed in 1991 in California, this band has become one of the most popular bluesacts in the States. With a perfect mixture of blues, soul and rock, Castro and his phenomenal band have gathered fans all over the world . This surely will become the highlight of 5 years Bugaboos Bluesfestival..
