Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey Concert Tour

Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey have kept a low profile for much of 2007. After spending the majority of 2006 on the road supporting their two previous HYENA Records albums, The Sameness of Difference and the digital exclusive “live” collection Tomorrow We'll Know Today, the trio made a conscious decision to slow their touring schedule down and focus on pre-production for the next JFJO studio album.

When the itch to play live arose, they'd scratch it with intimate JFJO shows in their home city of Tulsa (which were inevitably sold out affairs) or through outside projects: Reed Mathis toured in a trio with Marco Benevento and Mike Dillon and as a member of Bobby Previte's The Coalition of the Willing, Brian Haas did a West Coast solo run featuring special guests like drummer Scott Amendola and Korn keyboardist Zac Baird, while JFJO drummer Jason Smart gigged locally in Cincinnati.

Enlisting Tulsa-based electronic music wizard Tae Meyulks to produce the next JFJO album, the band is now deep into the recording process. While nobody beyond producer and band have heard tracks yet, rumor has that it will be JFJO's most ambitious studio recording to date. With the mixing set to begin in July, JFJO will play select U.S. East Coast dates in June including the Saratoga Freihofer's and Burlington Discover jazz festivals, a run of three shows with special guest Steve Kimock joining the trio and a New York City Rocks Off Cruise down the East River and around The Statue of Liberty. The tour begins and ends in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
