Funmi Olawumi at Queen Elizabeth Hall

On Wednesday 30 May 2007 Funmi Olawumi will perform at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London, UK. The first lady of Nigerian faaji music, Funmi Olawumi will perform a spectacular three-hour show. Faaji is a Yoruba word for having a good time and is the name Olawumi gives her infectious music, which emerges from the fusion of Nigerian juju, afrobeat and hi-life.

In tonight's special concert Funmi Olawumi leads a 15-piece band that features vocal group The Afro Soul Sisters, Yoruba praise singers Wally Koko and Rahaman Akanni and DJ Seyi Oke.
