| Chelsea Lena to Play Bluebird Cafe in Nashville Chelsea Lena will play at the world famous Bluebird Café in Nashville, Sunday, June 24. A featured artist of the Bluebird's "Spotlight Series, " pop/country singer-songwriter Chelsea Lena will be accompanied by her band, a group of seasoned players described as a "rock band with a fiddle player." For Chelsea's energetic, passionate performances it is the perfect musical combination: one of Lower Broadway's first call fiddle players, Merna "Fiddlebird" Heersink; Matthew Burgess: percussion; Dave Robyn: acoustic guitar; producer/songwriter EB Fraley: electric guitar; Levi Sims: electric guitar and bassist Carl Melberg adds his East Coast edge to the rhythm section. Chelsea Lena has called the stage her home since she was five, but it wasn't until a few years ago that she started writing and singing her own songs. Now at 17, Chelsea Lena has opened for Toby Keith (at the K-FROG Radio tailgate party), Carrie Underwood and Tyler Hilton, performed at South By Southwest 2007 and the CRS 2007 Emerging Artist Showcase. In addition to writing her own songs that range from fun to emotional to bare-bones truth, Chelsea is also working with E.B. Fraley (Tanya Tucker, Ty Herndon) and the Elicit Music Group. Her single, "Finally Got Away" is currently featured on the syndicated Back Porch Show (BackPorchShow.com) and "You Can't Tell Me…" is being released to radio with a summer tour to follow. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
