| Fabian Gisler's Backyard Poets Hatology released Fabian Gisler's new album, Backyard Poets. The musicians are: Fabian Gisler -double bass, Henrik Walsdorff -alto & tenor saxophones, Colin Vallon -piano, John Schrder -drums. Fabian Gisler was born on August 18th 1977 in Zurich. He graduated at Swiss Jazz School in Berne where he studied with Peter Frei, Reggie Johnson, Bert Joris, Rufus Reid and Andy Scherrer. Meanwhile Fabian attended workshops led by Ray Brown, George Gruntz, Dave Liebman, Joe Lovano and George Mraz and he also won several prizes--namely at “Generations - International Jazzmeeting Frauenfeld” and “New Jazz Generation Contest” in Bern. From 2000 to 2002 Fabian appeared as regular member of the Klezmer Group “Kolsimcha” playing concerts in Europe and in the USA.
