| Inaugural Luminato Festival in Toronto Live at Courthouse announced its participation in Toronto's newest arts festival, Luminato, running June 1 to June 10. Bringing a little funk and Cajun flavour to Toronto, via New Orleans, Live at Courthouse presents ten nights of jazz that will keep the festival swinging. Susie Arioli kicks things off at the Courthouse for 3 nights, with the Susie Arioli Band featuring Jordan Officer. Known as a musician's singer, Arioli first broke out on the scene in 1997 and has been playing to acclaim with 4 best selling jazz albums. By deftly combining elements of blues, country, jazz and pop - the classic and the obscure - the Susie Arioli Band has created its own intoxicating sound. Featuring a cast of supremely young talented musicians, William Sperendei / David Braid Quintet with special guest Doug Wamble hit up the Courthouse with a twist. Trained by the Marsalis patriarch, Ellis, William Sperendei is well versed in all things New Orleans. The Kevin Clark Quartet plays the classic songs that came up with Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton with a clear tone and soulful interpretation. A former resident of New Orleans, Kevin Clark will get the place jumpin' and maybe even throw in a go-go dancer or two. A maestro on the Hammond B3 organ, Joey DeFrancesco is the baddest burner in the game. He joins Jake Langley, one of the country's top premier jazz guitarists, with Terry Clarke for three nights to help close Luminato at the Courthouse. NOLA, N'awlins, Crescent City, whatever you call it New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz.
