| Sibiu Jazz Festival - Romania One of the most accomplished editions up to this date of the Sibiu Jazz Festival has come to an end (5-13 May 2007), featuring great performances by Vienna Art Orchestra, Dee Dee Bridgewater, a surprising Marian Petrescu Trio, and many more people. The Sibiu Jazz Festival is probably the most important event of its kind in Romania. Prominent Romanian jazz artists have launched their careers here, in the course of what came to be a thirty-six year old history. The Sibiu Jazz Festival is nowadays the only Romanian festival member of the prestigious Europe Jazz Network. The stated aim of the Sibiu Jazz Festival is to contribute to the revival of the Romanian jazz movement, a revival in the spirit of the Sibiu jazz tradition.
