| Richard Thompson Sets U.S. Tour Richard Thompson will take to the road this June in support of his new album 'Sweet Warrior' (Shout! Factory/May 29), which has received lots of early buzz; USA Today music editor Ken Barnes describes it as "An electric album of originals, always welcome, from one of the world's most consistently dazzling guitarists. The songs are first-class" (USAT Online, 4/26). The powerful anti-war song "Dad's Gonna Kill Me" has received an especially large share of attention, highlighted as "Fear and xenophobia from the POV of a Western soldier in Iraq, heightened by offhand, dazzling guitar work" (USA Today, 4/24/07). EW Online calls it "Dylanesque… like "Masters of War" for a new millennium" (3/12/07). Shows on this tour will feature a good number of cuts from the new album alongside material culled from 40 years worth of Fairport Convention, Richard & Linda Thompson, and Richard Thompson records, and likely the odd unrecorded song or two.
