Jimmy Bruno's "Maplewood Avenue"

Despite the threat of closure, the Jazz Cafe at the Smithsonian, Washington, DC continues to attract great musicians to its stage. Legendary Jazz Guitar Master, Jimmy Bruno has chosen to debut his new CD release Maplewood Avenue at the Jazz Cafe Friday night. Jimmy Bruno's combo will play music from the new recording as well as other familiar jazz favorites. Jimmy's music combines his masterful playing with the warmth of the vibraphone and soulful upright bass. A “live in studio” recording, Maplewood Avenue offers the perfect antidote to over produced jazz. Every song was recorded in complete takes. No edits. No processing.

Maplewood Avenue includes Tony Miceli on Vibraphone and Jeff Pedraz on bass. The CD was produced by Affiliated Artists, LLC. Jimmy has been a professional jazz guitarist for over 30 years and Maplewood Avenue marks his 13th recording as an artist. He frequently plays venues in New York (Iridium), Washington DC's Smithsonian Jazz Caf as well as his regular performance at Chris's in his hometown of Philadelphia. Jimmy is a Jazz Guitar teacher at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and teaches privately as well. His most recent venture with Affiliated Artists, LLC has provided a platform for him to teach his revolutionary jazz guitar method through his Jazz Guitar Institute online.
