Marcia Miget On 'Getting To Know You'

Tuesday, May 15th at 6:30 pm PST on KSAV.org we'll hear Marcia Miget interviewed on 'Getting to Know You' by on-air personality, Susan McCray. A multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and educator, Ms. Migét performs in multiple genres nationally at venues from international music festivals to local concert halls. Most recently she performed on one of three stages with Voices of Latin Rock Legends, Abel Sanchez, Jorge Santana and Malo at the Cesar Chavez Arizona Celebration featuring War, Michael Salgado, Graciela Beltran and others the event.

2006 saw her at the Fillmore Jazz Festival with David Hardiman's San Francisco Big Band Allstars; 2003 through 2005 with the AAJC (African American Jazz Caucus) Dance Band at the International Association of Jazz Educators' Convention; in 2004 as Featured Artist with the AAJC/HBCU (Historically Black Colleges' & Universities) Allstar Big Band; with Dr. Anthony Brown and the Asian American Orchestra playing the Monterey, Stern Grove and Fillmore Jazz Festivals. She has been the featured performer with the James Cleveland Choir at the Gospel Music Workshop of America. With numerous television soundtracks to her credit she's a consummate musician.

Migét's performance pedigree includes multiple appearances with Carlos Santana, and legends such as Freddy Redd, Buddy Baker, Kenny Barron, Frank Foster, Pete Escovedo, Donald Byrd, Tyrone Hill of Sun Ra's Arkestra, Anthony Brown and the Asian American Orchestra, Wayne Wallace's Rhythm and Rhyme, and son, drummer Jaimeo Brown to name a few.

Interviewer Susan McCray started her career casting on such shows as: "Happy Days", "Laverne and Shirley", "Mannix", and "The Odd Couple" continuing on with such shows as "Hawaii 5-0", "Little House on the Prairie" as well as television movies. As VP of Talent for Michael Landon Productions, she continued to cast the series "Little House on the Prairie", "Father Murphy", "Highway to Heaven", and television movies "The Loneliest Runner", "Where Pigeons Go To Die", the motion picture "Sam's Son" and the CBS pilot "Us". With a list of interviewees like Katherine Leigh Scott, Christopher Riddle, Johnny Mann, Jayne Meadows, Jan Eberle, Frankie Lane, Al Viola Marcia is in good company.
