| The Scottish company is attracting record sales from US customers Linn Records has launched a website, to allow customers to download studio master quality music - a world first aimed at music lovers who desire the best possible sound with the added benefit of fast and convenient access to music. The Scottish company is attracting record sales from US customers. “It is wonderful to see Americans being the world leaders in embracing this new technology. Our new website brings high-definition music into their homes instantly. We are giving music lovers the chance to experience the very best sound quality that has ever been offered for sale commercially,” said Caroline Dooley, Head of Linn Records. With sales at 20,000 tracks to date, the site also offers CD quality files downloads and, to give customers as wide a choice as possible, MP3s (320Kbps) can also be downloaded. Test files of all formats are provided to allow customers to check that they are able to use the formats offered prior to buying anything. Studio master downloads are even better than CD and are equivalent to the original studio recording; CD quality downloads are equivalent to the quality on the actual CD and MP3s are slightly compressed. Popular download kazz artists include vocalists Claire Martin, Barb Jungr, Ian Shaw and Carol Kidd; guitarist Martin Taylor and flugelhorn player Gerard Presencer.
