| Gemini Soul with Ajamu Akinyele on the TV Show Gemini Soul with Ajamu Akinyele to perform “Live” on the morning television show Sacramento & Co. NEWS 10/ABC on Thursday - April 19, 2007. Cyber Jazz recording artists Ajamu Akinyele, pronounced Ah- jah-moo + Ah-kin-yay-lay, (bass, drum programming, & vocals); Jon O'Bergh (piano & keyboards); and Andrew Foster (percussion) will be performing their eclectic blend of smooth jazz - funk fusion as Gemini Soul on the morning television show. Gemini Soul w/ Ajamu Akinyele's performances are compared to the smooth sounds of Sade, the laidback grooves of bassist MeShell Ndegeocello, the funkiness of jazz legend Herbie Hancock, and the pop funk fusion of Miles Davis. Liquid Soul features new original music, plus favorite standards such as Peggy Lee's “Fever,” Stanley Clarke's “Yesterday Princess,” Sade's “Kiss of Life” & “Hang On To Your Love,” and Dave Brubeck's “Take Five.” Liquid Soul is the new direction in jazz. Ajamu Akinyele states “My overall goal is to introduce my music to all generations and to all ethnic backgrounds in support of jazz of all genres, trying to unite us as a people of one nation under a groove through cyber jazz.” write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
