| Manhattan Jazz Comes to Sayville On Wednesday, April 18th at the Sayville H.S. Auditorium Sayville High School Jazz Night will take place. This is the annual Sayville event you do not want to miss. Since 2002, the Sayville High School Jazz Choir and Jazz Ensemble have kicked off their Week of Jazz with an all day clinic featuring renowned jazz performers. The clinic culminates in a remarkable Jazz Concert that evening. The next morning at dawn, the ensembles get a taste of the musician's life on their Jazz Week Tour. In years past, the groups have performed not only in competitions but at Disneyworld, on the steps of the Capital Building and before 55, 000 people at the Baltimore Orioles Stadium. This year, the Jazz Choir under the direction of Jeff Hoffman and the Jazz ensemble directed by Andrew Giammalvo, will be competing in the Washington DC Music Festivals, the most comprehensive and prestigious festival in North America featuring performing groups from across the United States. They will be joined on their tour by the award winning Sayville High School Wind Ensemble, Sayville HS Orchestra and the outstanding female barbershop group, the Sayvillettes. The groups support this trip by fundraising thoughout the year; ticket sales from this event will support their efforts. This year's Jazz Night features the Sayville High School Jazz Choir and Jazz Ensemble performing with Kim Nazarian of NY Voices and Dave Liebman, soprano saxophone extraordinaire.
