| Guitarmania VIII The Calgary Blues Music Association and Kaos Blues are pleased to announce that due to overwhelming demand a third show at Guitarmania VIII is being added on Saturday April 28, 2007 at 1pm at the Bowness Community Hall. The previously released shows for Friday and Saturday April 27 and 28 are for 18+ only. This latest addition will be an "All Ages" show. Guitarmania VIII features 7 electrifying guitarists performing half hour sets with a backing band and the line-up is the same for all three shows. Featured guitarists include Ken Greer (pedal steel player from the band Red Rider and the Roadhammers performing mainly country and pop from St. John NB), Megan Lane (blues/rock from Saskatoon), Maurice John Vaughn (blues from Chicago), Brent Wright (jazz from Calgary), Jerry Doucette (blues/rock from Vancouver) Danny Sillger (blues/rock from Regina), and perennial favourite Jack Semple (blues, flamenco, jazz&rock from Regina) The backing band consists of Mike Little (Hammond Organ B3 keyboardist with the Mocking Shadows and the Roadhammers-Calgary), Curtis Cripps (Bass Guitarist with Johnny V and Sonny Rhodes-Calgary), and Duris Maxwell (Drummer originally from the Powder Blues Band, Heart and many, many other high profile acts-Calgary) write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
