| Laurel Masse Returns NYC's Metropolitan Room Laurel Masse, founding member of Manhattan Transfer, will follow her acclaimed series of New Year's shows at the Metropolitan Room with a return to the club for three shows in April - April 3rd, 10th and 17th. Joining her will be pianist and musical collaborator Tex Arnold, and Jon Burr on bass. Tuesday night at the Metropolitan Room is becoming a popular destination for jazz lovers. Masse's show follows venerable singer Annie Ross' regular set. Says Masse, “Annie Ross has been a great influence throughout my career; I consider it a tremendous honor to be sharing Tuesday evenings with her.” Songs in Masse's set are drawn from a variety of sources, reflecting her eclectic musical tastes and her unique ability to make any song her own. Joni Mitchell, Dave Brubeck, Carol Hall, and Lerner and Lowe are just a few of the composers whose work is included in the evening.
