Laurel Masse Returns NYC's Metropolitan Room

Laurel Masse, founding member of Manhattan Transfer, will follow her acclaimed series of New Year's shows at the Metropolitan Room with a return to the club for three shows in April - April 3rd, 10th and 17th. Joining her will be pianist and musical collaborator Tex Arnold, and Jon Burr on bass.

Tuesday night at the Metropolitan Room is becoming a popular destination for jazz lovers. Masse's show follows venerable singer Annie Ross' regular set. Says Masse, “Annie Ross has been a great influence throughout my career; I consider it a tremendous honor to be sharing Tuesday evenings with her.”

Songs in Masse's set are drawn from a variety of sources, reflecting her eclectic musical tastes and her unique ability to make any song her own. Joni Mitchell, Dave Brubeck, Carol Hall, and Lerner and Lowe are just a few of the composers whose work is included in the evening. While some of the material can be found on her previously released CDs Alone Together, Easy Living, Again, and Feather and Bone, many of the tunes will offer a sneak peek at her fifth solo CD currently in the works.
