| Concerts at One Presents Andrew Hill by Evan Bleier Thursday, March 29, 2007 the Concerts at One Winter series will conclude with a performance by acclaimed pianist and composer Andrew Hill. The Winter series has featured performances by choirs, symphonies, marimba players and guitarists and it seems fitting that such a varied cycle would end with a musician as diverse as Mr. Hill. For their hour-long performance at Trinity, The Andrew Hill Trio (Andrew Hill, piano; John Herbert, bass; Eric McPherson, drums;) will play one piece, Before I, a "liturgical work created from original themes and compositions, in the form of written and improvised music". The setting and aesthetics of Trinity Church will offer a warm and unique environment to see a work such as this performed. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
