Tam Lin Music plays in Brooklyn

Tam Lin Music, the New York City experimental folk-rock collective based around the songs of Paul Weinfield, will be playing at Catharsis, Brooklyn, NY on April 8th, 2007. Paul will be playing solo (vox and guitar) that night.

Tam Lin Music's first CD, "Floating World" was released in March 2006, and featured Paul's eclectic arrangements (he also played all the instruments on the record) combined with a more ambient kind of production. The result was a dark, delicate sound that led Freshout Media, a Philadelphia-based promotion group, to write, "Tam Lin makes music that steps out of a dream." Time Out New York writes, "[His] gentle and literate tunes are wistful yet vaguely sinister." Jezebel Music, a Brooklyn-based promoter of new, independent music, wrote, "The intricacies and uniqueness of [his] compositions stand alone as a rare, successful, genuine-sounding blend of both new and old sounds."

Tam Lin Music is currently working on its first full-length CD. The album differs from "Floating World" in its use of collaborations with other musicians and producers, as well as more organic instrumentation. It is set to be released in the spring of 2007.

Tam Lin Music is a catchall name for songs written and performed by Paul Weinfield, a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose songs have been compared to those of David Byrne, Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake, and Daniel Lanois.
