| Ricky Fitzpatrick - Speechless Performing Songwriter Ricky Fitzpatrick announced the upcoming digital release of his new instrumental album, "Speechless". It promises to be a drastic shift from the James Taylor-esque material that Fitzpatrick has become so well-known for over the past several years. Fans have always enjoyed his vocals but particularly love his intricate fingerpicked style on certain pieces. "Speechless" promises more of that, solo acoustic guitar, and all instrumental compositions. "A lot of people hear 'guitar instrumentals' and they think of Windham Hill and Will Ackerman, " says Fitzpatrick. "And that's cool. But that's not what this will be." Upon release fans will be able to download the entire tracklist or pick individual tracks. They'll also be able to download pictures, cover art (of course), song data (including tunings, chords and/or tablature), and they'll be able to customize products like t-shirts, hats and bumper stickers with their choice of Speechless art work. "This style and genre is something that I've always loved doing", explains Fitzpatrick. "After years of singer/songwriter material, I feel like I'm able to express myself to anyone now. And exponentially moreso. I'm excited about this, more than anything I've done yet. And the interactivity of the fans with the digital format and customization of products…this is the way the music business is. The CD is dead." write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
