Bob Frank, President of KOCH Records, announced today the formation of the KOCH Records Jazz/Adult Division. Chuck Mitchell, former President of Verve Records, will head up the division as Vice President of Jazz and Adult Music. Mitchell will spearhead A&R and Marketing efforts for the artists in these genres. The KOCH Records Jazz/Adult roster currently has artists Earl Klugh, Bob James, Jean-Luc Ponty, Michael Franks, Marcus Miller and Oleta Adams, among others.

Previously, Mitchell worked at Verve Records for six years, and headed the company worldwide as President from 1996-1999. Under his leadership, the label received an unprecedented 18 Grammy Award nominations in 1998. Mitchell was also responsible for extending Verve's brand beyond its core jazz heritage to build a reputation in adult pop, dance music and rhythm & blues.

Most recently, Mitchell has worked as a consultant for a variety of record labels, and has supervised video/film production for many musical artists, including multi-platinum vocalists Joss Stone and Norah Jones.

KOCH Records President Bob Frank states, “Now is the time for us to make a real aggressive move in this area and there is no better executive than Chuck to lead the charge. We are thrilled to have him join our crew!”

Mitchell adds, “I'm thrilled to be joining Bob Frank's team at KOCH Records. With artists such as Bob James, Earl Klugh, and Michael Franks, a superb foundation has been set to build a winning franchise in jazz and adult music. I'm looking forward to making contributions that will bring KOCH to a leadership position in a consistently challenging market environment.”
