On March 27, 2007 on the occasion of Sarah Vaughan's 83rd birthday, Susie Butler and Benn Bacot will be singing the 'Sarah Vaughan Songbook' at the Plush Room in the Hotel York, San Francisco, CA. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society in honor of Sarah Vaughan. Gifted with a unique voice that has been likened to a young Sarah Vaughan, Susie Butler's musical style makes her one of the most exciting and acclaimed performers of today. Her music has played in every corner of the globe, especially in Asia. Susie got her start by singing in church in Wichita, Kansas in an area rich with the jazz legacies of Count Basie, Charlie Parker, Lester Young and many more. She is more than just a girl singer she has a four octave range and is trained to sing opera. Susie is also second cousin to Rhythm and Blues Legend Jerry "The Iceman" Butler. Benn Bacot hails from McComb, Mississippi and like the thick dark mud in the Delta, Benn's voice oozes with deep passion.
