Jimmy Cobb's Mob at The Baltimore Museum of Art

The Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society continues its sixteenth season of exceptional jazz concerts at The Baltimore Museum of Art with its Annual Jazz Masters Concert featuring Jimmy Cobb's Mob on Sunday, February 18, 2007. This season's Annual Jazz Masters Concert features Jimmy Cobb's Mob with Jimmy Cobb on drums, Peter Bernstein on guitar, Richard Wyands on piano, and John Webber on bass. Mostly self-taught, Jimmy Cobb is the last surviving member from the 1959 classic album Kind of Blue, long considered the best-selling jazz album of all time.

Linked to Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, and the masters of jazz from the 1950s and 1960s, Jimmy Cobb is certainly no relic. With his working band, Cobb's Mob, which includes the popular guitarist Peter Bernstein, Cobb continues to explore and develop his sound. Without a doubt, this will be a swinging concert! In celebration of Black History Month, there will be a free docent-led tour at the BMA to explore the visual art by African-American "masters".
