| Vinx at the Evening Muse ![]() One major city newspaper recently described Vinx in the following way "Imagine Bobby McFerrin's sunny disposition blended with tribal drum patterns, L.A.'s and Babyface's cool-headed approach to dance-pop juxtaposed with the instinctual elemental hooks of early Police. And Prince's harsh, minimalist backgrounds supporting vocals that rival Nat "King" Cole's for sweetness ... a powerful effortless tunesmith and a vocalist of uncommon subtlety and understanding." This year Vinx is celebrating his "semi-centennial" and his schedule shows there is no slowing him down. February also finds him hosting an intimate Valentine's weekend and recital dinner at his home in historic McRae, Georgia, then follows with appearances at the Folk Alliance and NACA (National Association for Campus Activities) conventions. He then returns to Accra, Ghana as Artistic Director for the country's 50th anniversary celebration before a short European tour. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
