SongDoor 2006 Winners Announced

The winners of the SongDoor 2006 International Songwriting Competition have been announced. Entries were received from 26 countries on six continents. "The quality of the submissions was tremendous, "explains SongDoor president Tony Zotta. "It really speaks to the level of undiscovered talent that's out there. We're very proud of the winners."

CATEGORY WINNERS - COUNTRY CATEGORY: FLYIN' HOME, Diana Kelley, Tennessee, USA. POP CATEGORY: THIS LIFE, Cindy Horstman/Michael Medina, Texas, USA. ROCK CATEGORY: ALWAYS, Vince Aubin, Nanoose Bay, British Columbia. SINGER/SONGWRITER CATEGORY: FOUND, Michael Ingvarson/David Brooks, Melbourne, Australia. INSTRUMENTAL CATEGORY: TONIGHT, Ricky Drake, Montana, USA. R&B CATEGORY: CAN I GET WITH U, Dumisani, California, USA. BLUES: BLUES LADY, Skip Wilson, Colorado, USA.

Grand Award winner Sean Clive will have a full-band private-session demo of the song "Amazed, " done in a famous Music Row studio, as well as an array of other valuable prizes.

SongDoor 2007 is open for submissions on April 10, 2007. Everyone who entered receives a free self-paced online songwriting course from SongU.com, and each song receives a free professional critique.

SongDoor is an annual event designed by songwriters, for songwriters. The competition is open to amateur and professional songwriters worldwide. Entry deadline: November 15, 2007.

Judges include seasoned music industry producers, artists and engineers who have worked with/for such artists as Britney Spears, Neil Young, Jimmy Buffett, Garth Brooks and a host of other stars.
