| Nightlife Awards For NYC Jazz Artists On Monday January 29 at Town Hall in NYC, there will be live performances from this year's winners of the Nightlife Awards. These awards honor the best in NYC night life, in the categories of Jazz, Comedy, and Cabaret. There are no acceptance speeches, only performances from winners of the awards! In the Jazz category, this year's winners are: Female Jazz vocalist - Paula West (Finalists: Carol Sloane, Annie Ross). Male Jazz vocalist - Freddy Cole (Finalists: Dave Frishberg, Eric Comstock). Jazz soloist - Cedar Walton (Finalists: Paul Motian, Toots Thielemans). Jazz Combo - Ben Riley's Monk Legacy Band (Finalists: Roy Haynes, Microscopic Septet).
