| Will Taylor and Strings Attached Present The Hendrix Concert Will Taylor and Strings Attached team up with guitarist and songwriter Phil Brown, Nakia and Rodney Connell to present a one-night-only concert tribute to the songwriting and musical genius of Jimi Hendrix this coming January 13th, 2007 in the beautiful setting of St. David's Episcopal Church. Austin, TX. Through an amazing act of synchronicity, Will was introduced to kindred spirit Phil Brown only weeks ago while preparing for the Jimi show. Brown has spent more then 4 years preparing the album, The Jimi Project - a collection of personal re-interpretations of Jimi's music which is creating quite a buzz on NPR radio. Teaming up with Phil's amazing arrangements, guitar work, singing, plus the addition of Will's string arrangements, trumpet, guest vocalists Rodney Connell, and Nakia should make for a historical Austin tribute to this giant of American music. Charles Beard's projection magic will once again provide a visual symphony to accompany the live music. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
