| Up & Coming Songwriter Scores Big In Time For Holiday Season Local Vancouver singer and songwriter Janyse Jaud recently received the honor of being named Finalist (one of the top 4 rated songwriters) by the Song of the Year songwriting contest. Song of the Year is an international songwriting contest supporting VH-1's Save the Music Foundation. The Song of the Year judges are some of the biggest names in music including many Grammy Award winners. Song of the Year is excited to recognize Janyse for her exceptional songwriting ability for the song 'Santa Is Mine Ho Ho' in the Jazz category. Janyse competed against songwriters from all over the world for this honor. When asked what inspired the song Janyse commented, 'I wanted to write a song about Mrs. Claus and also relay how much Santa loves her and thinks of her as his greatest gift.' Currently Janyse is concentrating on her songwriting career and has just released a new album. The new full CD is called, The Magic of Christmas. As Janyse states 'My passion is songwriting and I love creating songs that make people smile'. Two of Janyse's songs ('Santa Is Mine Ho Ho' and 'It's Christmas I'm Without You') are being featured in the MOW 'All She Wants For Christmas' airing December 2006. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
