| ECM receives four Grammy nominations ECM and its artists have received four Grammy nominations. The news was released December 7th by the American Record Academy in Los Angeles. Manfred Eicher who won a Grammy Award as Classical Producer of the Year in 2002, is again nominated (for the eighth time) in this category. The nomination is based on his production of five exemplary albums: • Kurtág: Kafka-Fragmente (Juliane Banse and András Keller); • Nuove Musiche (Rolf Lislevand, Arianna Savall, Pedro Estevan, Bjørn Kjellemyr, Guido Morini, Marco Ambrosini, Thor-Harald Johnsen); • Schubert: String Quartet G Major (Gidon Kremer & Kremerata Baltica); • Silvestrov/Pärt/Ustvolskaya: Misterioso (Alexei Lubimov, Alexander Trostiansky, Kyrill Rybakov); • Honegger/Martinú/Bach/Pintscher/Ravel (Frank Peter Zimmermann and Heinrich Schiff). Gidon Kremer's new recording of Johann Sebastian Bach's sonatas and partitas for unaccompanied violin and the second volume of András Schiff's cycle of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas were nominated in the category Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (without orchestra). In addition, Trio Beyond with Jack DeJohnette, Larry Goldings and John Scofield is nominated in the category Best Jazz Instrumental Album with the live recording "Saudades", paying tribute to the life and work of Tony Williams.
