| Incubus' Light Grenades Light Grenades, the new release from multiplatinum Epic recording artists Incubus, rocketed onto Billboard's Top 200 this week at No. 1, making it the highest-charting album debut of the band's career. The album's explosive arrival is amplified by news that the band's headlining tour of North America -- their first in two years -- sold out in just one day. The highly anticipated tour kicks off January 5th at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver and will cover 25 major cities across the U.S. and Canada. Recent years have seen Incubus headlining packed-house arenas, but this time around the band wants to do something special for the fans and will be playing smaller theaters to create a more intimate vibe. The quintet (vocalist Brandon Boyd, guitarist Mike Einziger, bassist Ben Kenney, DJ Chris Kilmore and drummer Jose Pasillas) recorded Light Grenades, their sixth studio release, in Atlanta and L.A. with acclaimed producer Brendan O'Brien (Audioslave, Neil Young, Pearl Jam). Fueling the album's early success is top ten hit single "Anna Molly", whose Jamie Thraves (Coldplay, Death Cab For Cutie and Radiohead)-directed companion video is currently garnering heavy airplay on MTV2, VH1 and Fuse. Incubus recently teamed with Verizon Wireless for an online promotion in which fans directed a special "Anna Molly" video that is currently streaming on YouTube. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
