| New band for Carnival in St. Kitts D'Vybz Band will be officially introduced to the public at a media launch at the Marriott Resort as a new band for Carnival in St. Kitts. D' Vybz Band is a seven-member group of musicians that provide a blend of youth, experience and professionalism. But, it is widely speculated that it is a retitlement of the Nu Vybes Band which now appears to be heading in a new musical direction. The Nu Vybes Band entered the music landscape in 1987, introducing a new sound which combined calypso, soca, dance hall, reggae, jazz and R&B. After almost 20 years of stunning local, regional and international audiences with their unique tempo and having earned many successes, such as being awarded the title of Road March Champions on numerous occasions and several regional and international accolades, the Sugar Band is no more.
