| Public buy share in UK Jazz Star Symeon Cosburn Symeon Cosburn, one of the first UK jazz influenced artists to explore the use of "Sellaband" a new music portal Website to promote his career further has already raised over $1100 by selling shares in his music in just under four weeks on the site. The basic concept of "Sellaband" is to allow music fans, or "Believers" as they are referred to on the website, to buy a share in the Artist or Artists music publishing whom they believe will make it to stardom. The cost of a share is very low and the initial interest in the site prompted Symeon and his management to join the project. Unlike Symeon, many of the artists represented on the site are new to the music business, but the platform is designed to give artists of all styles and experience a fair and equal chance at drawing sponsors. After the artist reaches $50, 000 in share sales they record for Sellaband and deliver an exclusive album to every shareholder/believer, then their music is put on the site as free downloads available to anyone. The royalties for the downloads are covered by advertising sponsorship, companies such as Heineken have already signed up, and those royalties are then split between the Artist, the website and the Believers. The more successful and downloaded an artist is, the more money they and their believers make. Symeon is quite simply a star in the making. The Essex born singer/songwriter has been no stranger to the London stage over the last couple of years and has performed his unique jazz-influenced songs at some of the most prestigious venues. He is a regular performer at The Joogleberry Playhouse in Brighton and Marlborough International Festival. His debut album "Breakfast With The Blues" has received rave reviews from the press and public and features several of his own compositions including the duet "Twilight Time" which he persuaded The Communards' Sarah Jane Morris to sing with him! Symeon has already had considerable radio success with the album and his reworking of The Stranglers' "Golden Brown" has been playlisted on several UK radio stations, the success of which prompted a dance remix by The Groove Foundry which is now doing the rounds in dance clubs on a white label disc. To record the album Symeon turned to the highly esteemed vocalist and producer Ian Shaw. With Shaw they added guest appearances by bassist Simon Little (Divine Comedy), pianist Janette Mason (Oasis, Lea DeLaria) and some of the UK's finest musicians whose involvement only go to underline the respect that Symeon is attracting as a singer and entertainer. In 2002 he was asked to write the musical score for a play called "Who's Harry" that premiered at the Edinburgh Festival, won the "Festival First Award" and transferred to London. Recently Symeon has been on tour in Spain where he has also been writing material for his second album which he is hoping to produce in 2007.
