The Little Memphis Blues Orchestra - Debut Album

Formerly known as the Taylor Hicks Band, the Little Memphis Blues Orchestra capitalized on its affiliation with Taylor by trailing the American Idols Live tour, gaining notoriety and fans in the process. Now, the band is stepping out of Taylor's shadow to showcase its members' own musical styles and talents on the band's debut album.

While many bands fall apart when the leader leaves, the Taylor Hicks Band repackaged itself as the Little Memphis Blues Orchestra and set out to follow in his successful footsteps. Showcasing their original music, LiMBO hopes to make an impact on the recording industry with their unique sound. Sam Gunderson of LiMBO describes how the band began forming its own sound: "At first, we didn't showcase our original music because here we were a full entity with Taylor, and then, Taylor leaves. There's a grace period where you have to kind of look at the new sound and form the new sound and forge the new relationship with the individuals--members in the band. So, we took that time and developed rather easily a formula for playing together and then, that kind of just naturally drifted itself into original expression, which is what we're concentrating on now." LiMBO is comprised of Sam Gunderson on lead guitar and lead vocals, Brian Less on keyboards and lead vocals, Jeff Lopez on horns, Mitch Jones on bass guitar, and Zippy Dieterich on drums and lead vocals.

At the suggestion of bass player Mitch Jones, LiMBO set out on tour behind the American Idols Live tour this summer and entertained fans across the country in small venues following each American Idols show. In the process, many fans of American Idol gained the opportunity of seeing winner Taylor Hicks perform in his own element and were introduced to the band now known as LiMBO. Many are now also fans of LiMBO.

Recently awarded the title of Best Local Act by The Birmingham News, LiMBO is on its way. Stay up to date on breaking news about the band by signing up for the band's newsletter at www.officiallimbowebsite.com and download the band's new album on iTunes on November 21, 2006.
