| Angel Travis Featured Across Top of Music Home Page Singer-songwriter Angel Travis, whose debut album "The Woman In Me" was released September 26, is featured today on the Music home page of the Windows Media Guide, Microsoft's leading online portal for Windows-based streaming media. Travis' photo appears in the premium top banner position spanning the full width of the Music page, and the Guide's accompanying text cites her, "Rich sounds and soaring vocals in 'Think Of You, '" referring to the artist's powerful lead single. Angel Travis is a Washington State-born and bred, Los Angeles-based artist renowned for potently channeling raw and honest emotion through her art -- and her rich, expressive voice. As actor/musician Jeff Goldblum once put it, "I listened to this music, closed my eyes, and my heart felt like a candied apple dipped in rum." Angel's debut disc was released on her own imprint, Tao & Zen Music, through Mesa/Bluemoon Recordings, with distribution handled by Fontana/Universal. Fusing elements of pop, soul, rock, blues and jazz, it's a revealing collection of songs that the artist says are about, "finally believing in myself." Thematically, "The Woman In Me's" song cycle chronicles Angel's life and personal evolution in Los Angeles over the last six years, a concept envisioned for the project by producer Michael Vail Blum (Madonna, Young Dubliners, Suicidal Tendencies, etc.). On stand-out tracks including "Think Of You", which reflects on her rocky relationship with her mother, and the moving "Still Love You", about her father's loss of his wife of 23 years (Angel's stepmother), Travis' individual and artistic journeys converge to create music that is both elegant and moving. Travis will headline at B.B. King's Club at Universal City Walk in Los Angeles on Friday, December 16. Her other recent L.A. dates include acclaimed performances at top venues The Mint, Hotel Cafe and Tangier. She recently returned from a mini-tour of Washington State, including dates in Spokane and Wenatchee, the famous "Apple Capital" that's Travis' hometown. In an interview with the Wenatchee World, Angel said of her music, "I'm madly in love with it, I feel incomplete without it in terms of expression. I'm complete and whole as I am, but without music, it wouldn't be as fulfilling."
