| Marcin Masecki At Joe's Pub ![]() Raised in a musical family, Marcin started his music adventure very early, doing ear training and harmony exercises/games at age 3 with his father, a clarinetist, and taking up the piano at age seven. By twelve, he was a regular at the legendary Polish jazz club "Akwarium" and formed his own trio and started performing at various festivals by 15. A year later he joined a young group, Alchemik, which won the prestigious Jazz Hoeilaart competition in Belgium with Marcin winning the "best soloist" prize. On a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music, he studied with outstanding musicians such as Dave Samuels, Robert Moog and Danilo Perez, later returning to Poland, where he guested with the "Innocent Sorcerers - Live", playing beside the great trumpeter Tomasz Stanko, and performed solo or with Trio at various festivals at home and abroad. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
