Celebration of the music of Ray Charles

II Can't Stop Loving You, a spectacular celebration of the music of Ray Charles, will be presented on Saturday November 4 and Sunday, November 5 at The Grand 1894 Opera House, Galveston, TX. Sponsored in part by Frost Bank and the Houston Chronicle, this dynamic production with a 12 piece orchestra on-stage, and a wonderfully talented cast of 20 singers and dancers is an exhilarating tribute to the genius of Ray Charles.

With basic narration in the strong voice of Ken Prymus, I Can't Stop Loving You serves as a live action greatest hits, with classics such as the beautiful Georgia On My Mind, Let the Good Times Roll, and I Got a Woman. The second half of the show features other composer's works given the "Ray" treatment including: Makin' Whoopee, Fever, and his haunting version of the Beatles' Eleanor Rigby. Floored by the energy of the ensemble, the audience is sure to feel part of a golden era "where singers could really sing and dancers moved until they fell down." More importantly, the main artists illustrate how talent and great casting create theatrical magic.

Come spend an evening at The Grand and enjoy this catalogue of music that deserves to be described as "possibly the best live collection of Rock and Roll, mixed with Blues and country and even Gospel – available today. The man responsible was Ray Charles . The people responsible for this show should be justly proud for not allowing us to forget one of the most influential musical artists of our lifetimes. Now we have a chance to experience again a remarkable legacy. If that qualifies Ray Charles as a Genius then let it be so . . . and let the people go and live the man through his music, " states Theatreworld Internet Magazine.
