| Percentage From "Enter the Misfit" to Autism Treatment Center After a worldwide search by the Virginia-based independent record label, Crater Rock Music, the Autism Treatment Center of America has been chosen as the recipient of a percentage of online download and of sales from their upcoming international release by Theory of Mind, entitled "Enter the Misfit." Theory of Mind is the trade name used for the musical endeavors of Tony Belcastro, a high-functioning autistic savant with Bipolar Disorder, Tourette's Syndrome and Dyscalculia. Tony is an experienced and talented composer and musician that has played music for over 30 years and has been a recording artist for over 20 years. He plays piano, guitar, bass and a variety of other instruments in an assortment of genres including blues, jazz, rock and classical. The music of Theory of Mind combines these genres into an instrumental progressive rock, or progressive fantasy rock category. According to Tony, "Enter the Misfit" is a collection of songs that was initially intended to be a tribute to autism; a musical revelation of the often hidden deep inner workings of an autistic mind. However, after a short period of time I began to see the project as a personal exploration of my own world. Despite many thoughts about abandoning the project for various reasons, the reactions described by the few people who listened to it encouraged me to continue. As production neared completion, I began to feel a new confidence that I had never experienced previously. It is my hope that this project will not only encourage other autistic people to confidently pursue dreams that may seem unattainable, but also help bridge a connection between many autistic and non-autistic people who may otherwise find connecting with others to be difficult, or sometimes even impossible." "Enter the Misfit" is scheduled to be mixed and mastered by Chet McCracken and Eddie Tuduri at Studio C&C in Los Angeles and planned for release in November. Crater Rock Music will donate a percentage of every music download and every CD purchase to the Autism Treatment Center of America to benefit families and children in need of scholarships. The downloads will be available at Apple iTunes, Yahoo music, Best Buy, Rhapsody, Napster, MSN Music, CD Now, Borders, Waldenbooks, Virginmega.com, Target.direct, Amazon.com, among other digital download sites. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
