| Brott Music Festival Receives Government's Support On behalf of the Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women, Mike Wallace, Member of Parliament (Burlington), today announced $25, 000 in funding for the 2006 Brott Music Festival. The funding will support the festival's 19th season in Hamilton and area, from July to December 2006. "The Government of Canada is committed to making quality arts festivalsin communities all across Canada accessible to families, " said Minister Oda. "Events like the Brott Music Festival allow Canadians to enjoy their country's incredibly rich and diverse culture." "This festival is a long-standing and important event for Hamilton and the entire region, " said Mr. Wallace. "It widens the audience for classical music, giving children and families the chance to experience diverse musical offerings." The Brott Music Festival has been providing quality musical experiences to the Canadian public for the past 19 years. The festival offers a range of classical music including Afro-Canadian choral music, Celtic music, crossover, and concert jazz. Financial assistance is provided by the Department of Canadian Heritage through its Arts Presentation Canada Program.
