’Jazz for Kids’ at The Camel Barns in Benicia

The Ken Stout Quartet will bring the sounds of modern contemporary jazz to a "Jazz for Kids" concert at the Benicia Historical Museum in Benicia, CA on Sunday, October 22, 2006 . This family friendly program will introduce children to the jazz repertoire.

Saxophonist, Ken Stout, has performed jazz for over 25 years and has performed with The Four Tops, Mary Wilson and the Supremes and the Bobby Short Jazz Orchestra. The Vacaville-based sax player has opened for Jeffery Osbourne, Tom Scott and The Drifters.

Mr. Stout says his influences range from David Sanborn, Phil Woods, Michael Brecker to Cannonball Adderly. This concert follows the very successful "Bluegrass for Kids" concert held at the museum in August.

"It is part of the mission of the Benicia Historical Museum to bring history and culture to our community, " says Ann Hansen, President of the Board of Directors. "Jazz for Kids" will introduce children to an American music art form. In addition, she says, the museum is open upstairs and admission is free to all who attend the concert. "It will be a fun and culturally expanding experience for the young and old alike!"
