Hawaii Arts Season 2007

The 2007 Hawaii Arts Season kicks off in February with an impressive line-up of international and local experiences across its Aloha islands. On Kauai Island, you have the chance to learn the Hawaiian slack key guitar and the ukulele at Kauai's Hanalei Family Community Centre on Friday and Sunday afternoons. Also, on March 18, the locals will dazzle you with stories and songs of their ancient people, the Menehune.

You will feast on an exciting and eclectic mix of traditional, island contemporary, Jazz, Rock, Latin, Blues and even Country music on Oahu Island where the 10th Annual Hawaii Music Awards will also be hosted.

If you've always dreamed of perfecting the hula, then visit Molokai Island, home of the hula dance. You are sure to find the graceful art everywhere on the Island, especially during the popular Ka Hula Piko Festival.

An eclectic collection of native Hawaiian and modern art will be on display at the galleries of Lanai Island. From ancient petroglyphs carved into rock to dramatic oil paintings boldly displayed in hotel lobbies and art galleries, Lanai is unique and equally dazzling. You can also enrol in photography workshops, bead making projects, cooking competitions and oil painting classes for all ages.
