| Copenhagen Blues Festival 2006 From Sept. 20. - 23. this year's edition of the Copenhagen Blues Festival 2006 offers more than 60 blues concerts at venues all over Copenhagen, and with best festival programme yet. The festival has several new events at this year's programme, a special spotlight on the acoustic scene, and we have launched a whole new project with lots of blues in the daytime during all 4 festival-days. Copenhagen presents this year a thrilling international line-up: The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Corey Harris, one of America's absolute best roots musicians - known to many from Scorsese's 2003 blues film, Sherman Robertson, a guitar-ace and a total explosion of energy on stage, Paul Lamb and Gary Primich, both masters of the harp. Scandinavia is represented by Norwegian super-duo, Tommy Kristiansen & Eirik Bergene, Cajun du Nord, mixed DK & N, and Swedish Knockout Greg, Steve Grahn & Mattias Malm and Bottleneck John. Among the Danish artists are: Mike Andersen Band, in a doubble-show with the T-Birds, SP Just Frost, Thorbjørn Risager, Cross, Schack & Ostermann, Organizers, Oernes Blues Band, and scores of wellknown, seasoned artists as well as talented newcomers. It will be more female blues artist than earlier, among them Ladies Sing the Blues and Mama's Blues Joint, from the UK Kyla Brox, a young talent with great potential, and from the US Rose Hudson to perform her state-of-the-art blues-soul-gospel. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
