| The Dylan Storey Band's second album The Dylan Storey Band from New Zealand has just released its second album titled 'Bones'. After six months of work, this album is now complete, having been mixed and mastered by Dale Cotton. It is a 10 song collection of rock songs with a 70s blues flavour in a variety of moods ranging from slide acoustic to noisy guitar rock. Skilful instrumentation characterises this album with thick, tuneful guitar riffs decorated by Hammond organ, Fender Rhodes and piano. This second album contains strong, catchy songs with a band-sound that has been honed by regular gigging. Musical influences include: Bob Dylan, The Allman Brothers, Iron and Wine, Muddy Waters, Wilco, Gomez, Jethro Tull, Rory Gallagher, The Arcade Fire, Grand Funk Railroad. 'Bones' follows eighteen months after the independent release of first album 'Up in the Rough', off which the single 'The Water' spent 8 weeks of the bfm chart, peaking at number 1. Since then the Dylan Storey Band has become known in the Auckland music scene for profound, multi layered live shows, giving them the reputation as one of the most unique live acts in the country. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
