| Malta: Big Band Brothers in Concert As part of the activities organized by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, The Big Band Brothers are presenting Big Band Brothers in Concert. The show features the band in a joint venture with singers, dancers and actors, to create a theatrical commercial comedy.Big Band Brothers in Concert will take place on Monday 14th August in Freedom Square, Valletta. The concert will take place on a stage with an original setup, which will help in creating an interesting show by mixing brass instruments and percussion integrated with various other set props that one does not usually find in a concert. Big Band Brothers, which was formed in October 2005, is made up of talented musicians playing Brass instruments and Percussion who are able to transform their music into commercial and theatrical performances. Throughout its brief existence the band has played in major musical and cultural events on the island among which are the Oktoberfest, the Fireworks festival, Zoo goes 2006 and the International Band Festival. The band has also been the warm up band for the bootleg Beatles (London) who performed in Malta last February. Recently they have been appointed as the resident band on the TV program "Fil-Pjazza tar-Rahal" which is shown every Friday night on TVM. Last June, the Big Band Brothers participated in an international event for the first time.
