| Pamela York at The Strand Theatre The Strand Theatre and Island Music will present one spectacular night of jazz with Pamela York: Live in Concert on Monday, August 21. Canadian-born Pamela York is a jazz pianist, vocalist, and composer whose career has reached a new level with the release of her debut album, Blue York (Audiophoric). Her style ranges from hard swinging, blues-based tunes to intimate, understated ballads. Pamela began her formal training at the age of eight. She studied classical music throughout her childhood and eventually completed her Master's Degree in Jazz from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she held a graduate teaching assistantship.
