| Donn Wyatt - ’Triumphant’ Pianist Donn Wyatt is releasing his latest CD "Triumphant" with a live concert at BB Kings at Universal City Plaza on Friday, August 4th. Donn grew up playing with several bands, one of which included Lenny Kravitz. As a Beverly Hills High grad, Donn's love for music led him to further study at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, well known for alumni Quincy Jones, Arif Mardin among countless others. He returned home to study conducting and orchestration at USC, and was swept up by R&B legend Bill Withers to head his band as Music Director. Donn has served as Music Director for pop icon Kenny Loggins, smooth jazz pioneer Dave Koz, and R&B crooner Phil Perry. Donn spent a few years touring with Anita Baker, and has worked with such luminaries as Stevie Wonder, Olivia Newton-John, Earth, Wind & Fire. Donn is pianist for the Paul Jackson, Jr. band, and works with the Ricky Minor Band. With the Ricky Minor Band, Donn played the 2006 NAACP Image Awards, Simon Cowell's "America's Got Talent", and the soon to be aired Cedric the Entertainer's HBO Special "Taking You Higher". write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
