| The Velmas Open for Soul Asylum The Velmas stand up and are strong for Soul Asylum as City Canyons recording artists open for legendary rockers at Revolution Hall in Troy, NY on Saturday August 5. The renewed and revitalized Soul Asylum with Dave Pirner and Dan Murphy, coming back the death of bass player Karl Mueller, return in a concert featuring great songs from their new album "Silver Lining". The Velmas, whose new album "Station" will be released this fall will also be showcasing glittering new material. City Canyons Records is a Manhattan based independent label featuring an international roster of artists. In addition to The Velmas. other artists on the Manhattan based City Canyons roster are New York artists, Sara Wendt and Jen Elliott with her band Bluestruck, The Alrights from Minnesota, UK artists David Steele, Peter Ulrich and ANEMO and the hard rocking Valerian from Finland.
