| Darrell's Debut CD Gold Leaf Records presents Darrell, and his new CD release entitled Be Still. This new CD is a collection of 14 songs in styles ranging from R&B and pop, to Jazz and World Music. Darrell's music provides unique perspectives into life, love, and spirituality, and while this is not a gospel CD, Be Still takes the listener on a rhythmic journey that gets you moving, while stimulating the heart and mind with new ways of looking at life. "I wanted to write an album that would have a strong commercial appeal, but at the same time appeal to people's spiritual nature and touch their lives in a personal way. A lot of energy and love went into this project, and everything you hear is truly from the heart, " Darrell said. All of the songs on the CD are written, arranged, performed, and produced by darrell, with help from other artists on various cuts. darrell's strong vocals and musical arrangements will quickly show him to be a standout performer. The first single release from the album is entitled, And So Said Maya Angelou, a slow and powerful piece that expresses the importance of learning and growing as a part of life's journey. "The song itself is kind of loosely based around things that Maya Angelou has written in her career. She has always been such an inspiration to me in my life, and has been kind of a long distance mentor in many respects, " said Darrell. This CD will serve as the premiere effort for the new Gold Leaf Records label, whose emphasis is on providing positive contemporary music that appeals to a range of musical tastes and styles.
