| Editio Princeps releases Nenê's Minuano Brazilian label Editio Princeps released Nene's new album Minuano. Nene is one of the most respected brazilian artists of nowadays. Extremly gifted drummer, pianist and arranger, he has a profilic career, spanning for more than 40 years. Well know for his musical relationship with legends such as Hermeto Pascoal (with whom he worked for more than 25 years in several different lineups), Egberto Gismonti and the Pau Brasil combo, he also recorded a number of solo albums, always working with the best musicians around. During his 12 years stay in Europe he recorded his first solo albuns. This special release brings his third effort, "Minuano" (1985), considered by most (and by Nene himself) his masterwork, coupled with his debut work, "Bugre" (1982), recorded with a stunning team of musicians. The album "Minuano", recorded in Europe in 1985, is Nene's third solo effort and his masterwork. Including only original compositions, this record showcases an outstanding musician: besides an incredible drummer and pianist, he is also a bold arranger, following the creative paths of masters like Hermeto Pascoal and Egberto Gismonti (whose groups in which he played a major role for a long time). As a bonus, this CD brings the full "Bugre" album, his first solo work, recorded in 1982. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
