| Raistalla Announces Debut Album Release Electro-funk Singer/songwriter Raistalla Announces Debut Album Release. Raistalla recorded her album in New York and Los Angeles with producer Kaz Gamble of Cooler Kids/boygirL. The format of her album, two acts and an epilogue, was inspired by her love for musical theatre. Act I, takes you through a dance party of funky high energy tracks; Act II, transitions into a smooth alternative edge depicting reality; and the Epilogue closes with a climactic anthem of the day's lesson. The first three songs recorded, "Attention, Krazy, & Pressure" highlight her transition from Dancer to Artist. Raistalla wrote, "Attention was conceived from the vain, vixen/lustful side of me. I wrote this song with my best friend Galen Hooks. Krazy was written by Galen entirely. She came up with this psycho character that pretends to fall for guys that like her, in which she runs game on, then when they get hurt and leave, she really starts to fall for them, but denies it. I decided to take on that character for the song because it would be fun to perform. Pressure was pretty much self explanatory. When Kaz Gamble (my producer) brought the track to me, all I had to do was create the visuals for the story with my words. It is mainly about being fed up with everyday's pressures of life whether it is at work or in relationships." Raistalla draws her talent from a background of artists in her family who taught her at an early age to sing and dance her blues and her joys. Growing up in Miami Florida, provided the perfect setting for developing this sense of expression, which surfaced through dance. After working in the entertainment industry for six years as a professional dancer and appearing with some of the top names in the industry such as: Madonna, Outkast, Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Christina Aguilera, Raistalla grabs the microphone, records an album and goes on tour. She is a seasoned professional at her craft of performing and now that she is singing, it just puts the cherry on the pie. She promoted and booked her own shows, gaining fans since November 2005. While touring in Japan, New York, and Miami, her song "Pressure" hit #1 on Internet Radio Milano in March, being in the top ten since. Several other songs have hit the internet radio market and are doing exceptionally well. Japan has immediately fallen in love with hits like "Long Way", "Pressure", "Feels Good", and "Krazy"! She has a great passion for her art that manifests through her exhilarating performance. Her philosophy is simple: "Music isn't about how you should feel; it's about being natural, without boundaries and just following your instincts." write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
