| The Flaming Lips U.S. Tour The Flaming Lips have solidified the first part of their North American tour in support of their new Warner Bros. Records release, "At War With The Mystics." The most exciting Lips news in recent weeks is that their July 23 date at the prestigious Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California is sold out. All 17, 500 seats have been snapped up making this the fastest-selling show at the Bowl this season. The Lips have also confirmed an appearance on ABC TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" the day after the Bowl show. Still reeling from their recently completed sold-out tour of the U.K. where "Mystics" was certified Gold upon release, The Lips are pleased to announce their American summer tour which will feature support from some of their favorite bands: The mighty Sonic Youth, Ween, The Magic Numbers, The Go! Team, Wolfmother, and others. The Lips are also excited to play some U.K. festival shows this summer supporting some of their heroes including The Who and Bob Dylan. Confirmed worldwide dates are as follows with more to be announced shortly: The Flaming Lips along with long-time collaborator Bradley Beasly ("Fearless Freaks") have just completed a new video at home in Oklahoma for "The W.A.N.D." The colorful clip features some of the cast from A&E TV's "Rollergirls, " and about a million bouncing Superballs. "The W.A.N.D." video will debut on The Flaming Lips My Space page the week of June 12, 2006. write your comments about the article :: © 2006 Jazz News :: home page |
