| Vulcanology Festival (Italy) Vulcanology Music and Art Festival, born out of a dream of Rocco Pandiani, Valerio D'Urso and Sandra Virlinzi, will happen from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 of July 2006 in the spectacular setting of Catania beach, between the sea and the towering volcano of Mount Etna. Sounds will range from the world music of Peppe Barra with Lino Cannavaccluolo to the drum'n'bass of Amon Tobin, the afro jazz of Randy Weston Trio and the soul funk of Roy Ayers. Also appearing on the bill are folk-jazz legend Terry Callier, Kid Koala, The Next One of early Rock Steady Crew with the break dance crew Soul Brothers, Gak Sato, Astronaughty Quartet, Kid Loco, Dj Seep, Mau, Soul II Soul Sound System + Live Guests, Heinz Tronigger of Madrid De Los Austrias, Pain, Massimo Napoli, Kikko Solaris, Rocco 'Mad On Jazz' Pandiani, Luca Dondoni and Carl Craig. In addition to music, there will also be a 'surprise' art exhibition curated by Sandra Virlinzi, of wood-deck chairs' canvas transformed into paintings by Natalie Du Pasquier, Fulvia Mendini, Sandra Virlinzi, Adalberto Abbate, Dario Arcidiacono, Akire.Erika, Andrea Buglisi, Massimo Caccia, Giordano Curreri, Andrea Di Marco, Fulvio Di Piazza, Massimo Giacon, Nino Mustica, Enzo Rovella, Antonio Sorrentino and Serginho Cartoons Inc.
