| Orjan Hulten Trio New CD ’In The Woods’ June, 19, 2006 Artogrush Music will release ’In The Woods’, a new album from three of Sweden's most exciting musicians. Music in the tradition of Sonny Rollins and John Coltrane with an ambient and contemporary touch. Orjan Hultn Trio (Orjan Hulten - saxophones, Filip Augustson - bass, Fredrik Rundqvist - drums) went to Prastmon, Angermanland in the north of Sweden to reconnect to northern roots and to get the right woodland feeling. This new album Im the Woods, their first full-length recording as a trio, was recorded on a bitterly cold winter day. "The woods" are a central source of inspiration on this album, the music sometimes dark and mysterious like a northern pineforest, sometimes busy and bickering like chattering junglebirds, sometimes peaceful and unfathomable like a woodland pool. OHT play an unrestrained mixture of religious freejazz, ballads, r&b, calypso, uptempo and blues. In their music you can find influences from a wide range of musicians such as Alice Coltrane, Mary J Blige, and the swedish pianist Per Henrik Wallin.
